Peaceful, prosperous & with nearly 40% of the land set aside as protected nature reserves, Botswana is rightly considered 1 of the top destinations in Africa.
The amazing Okavango Delta, fed by crystal clear waters of the Angolan highlands & floods every year, spreading the fingers of water through a desert wonderland, resulting in full herds of game & unique water & land-based game view. The Chobe National Park, home to 45,000 elephants are easily combined with Victoria Falls in Zambia & the Tuli Block in the South African border offers dramatic landscapes with great games. The Delta, which also includes areas such as Chief's Island & Moremi Game Reserve, only accessible by air. The main access point is a small town called Maun, daily from Johannesburg by Air Botswana. From light aircraft to take customers to the camps in the delta. It's popular to combine camps: Packages usually consist of two or three nights in a camp along with two or three nights in another camp, connected by short flight hops between the camps & in & out of Maun, or ends at Kasane, where's the main access point for Chobe & Victoria Falls.
Chobe, in the far north eastern corner, near a confluence where Botswana, Zambia, Namibia & Zimbabwe. This is very easily accessible by road from Livingstone & Victoria Falls (45 minute road transfer) is an ideal combination with the Victoria Falls. Chobe National Park is huge & home to 45,000 elephants. Many of the lodges are centred around the Chobe River, making them the boat trips & game drives in the reserve has to offer. The small town of Kasane is here with a local airport & is served by the same small charter hop in & out of Okavango Delta Maun this service. It's possible to choose a package starting in Maun then the camps in the Delta & drops off at Kasane Chobe & combining the waterfalls.
Other areas in Botswana include the Tuli Block, which is far south & borders South Africa & also Savute is between Chobe & the Delta.
